Brothers and Sisters
I don't know if any of you watch the show Brothers and Sisters on Sunday nights at 10p.m. but its a great show its about this family that is more dysfunctional than we are if you can believe that. HA HA! Anyway it is about the every day lives of this family and it hits all the current topics which the biggest topic right now is the war.
The youngest son is in Iraq on his second tour and he really didn't want to go back because the first time he was sent over he got hurt and was addicted to drugs for a very long time anyway his platoon got hit by snipers and they don't know if he is dead or alive which really hit home with me. Which is why I am writing this.
It was like when Tony was over there and we got the call and we didn't know anything and even when he was state side we didn't know if he was going to make it. What I am about to say may upset some of you but please hear me out. Tony you know I love you and you know that I never want anything bad to happen to you but I am thankful that you were hurt in a way that you cant be sent back over because I don't know if I could handle something worse happening to you. I thank the Good Lord daily that you are alive and you are home. I know its selfish of me but I cant help it. Tony you are my hero and I am proud to say it and I am glad I can say it to your face and not to a grave.
I do agree that we had to do something after 911 and I support all the men and women still fighting but I wish and pray this war will be over soon because it has gone on way too long and too many young people are losing the battle. I am scared to death that they are going to start the draft back up and my nieces and nephews will be drafted and that is something else I don't want to have to face.
So please keep praying even if you don't believe in the war, pray that this war ends soon and we don't lose anymore of our soldiers and Please God Keep my Family State Side.
Love All Ya All,
Barb

Barbara,
I agree whole heartedly with you. I know this war is something we had to do. I remember when all this started, Sister Marie (a friend of mom & dad's) asked us to join her and a group downtown St. Augustine to protest the war. I went. After, I had a long talk with Tony. I was so afraid for my son and my nephews. Tony explained it all to me in just a few words. "We are fighting now so our sons and daughters do not have to fight in the future". How I pray this holds true. Whatever your beliefs are in this war, please continue to pray not just for our soldiers, but for all the innocent people who are caught up in it.
I love you all.
Aurelia
Amen to that........
Barb and Aurelia there is nothing more to add to your letters. Just God Bless us all and get us all through this awful time. As one who lived in the very middle of a war I dont want that to happen here. God Bless Love QMG
